St Peter’s Church in Woolton is defined by its massive bell tower, which rises ninety feet and historically stood as the highest point in Liverpool. This red sandstone building, designed by architects Grayson and Ould, opened in eighteen eighty-seven to accommodate the growing population of the village. It is an active Anglican parish church, designated as a Grade II* listed building for its architecture, which follows the Perpendicular Gothic Revival style.
