Colorado Street Bridge

landmark

The Colorado Street Bridge is recognized by its soaring, Beaux Arts concrete arches and the distinct curve that carries the roadway across the Arroyo Seco. Completed in nineteen thirteen, the bridge spans nearly fifteen hundred feet and rises one hundred fifty feet above the canyon floor. It was designed by the firm Waddell and Harrington to replace the smaller Scoville Bridge, which forced travelers to descend and climb the steep ravine walls.
