The Raymond Theatre is recognizable by its historic facade on North Raymond Avenue, marked by a preserved marquee that recalls its origins as a nineteen twenties movie palace. Designed by architect Cyril Bennett and opened in April nineteen twenty-one, the building has served many roles over the last century. It operated as a vaudeville stage and a film house before transitioning into a venue for live music, eventually earning a reputation for its acoustics during its years as Perkins Palace.
