The Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ is defined by its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, marked by a bell tower modeled after one in Seville, Spain, and barrel roof tiles imported from Cuba. Completed in nineteen twenty-five, it was the first public building constructed in Coral Gables. The site was developed by city founder George Merrick to honor his father, Reverend Solomon Greasley Merrick, a Congregational minister.
