Coral Gables Merrick House

museum

The Coral Gables Merrick House is easily identified by its exterior walls made of rough-hewn oolitic limestone, a material quarried from what eventually became the city’s famous Venetian Pool. Located at nine zero seven Coral Way, the house began as a modest wooden cottage in eighteen ninety-nine when Reverend Solomon Merrick and his family arrived from Massachusetts to establish a grapefruit plantation on their one-hundred-sixty-acre tract.
