The Wynwood Walls are a complex of warehouse buildings with windowless walls that serve as an outdoor museum for graffiti and street art. Founded in two thousand nine by developer Tony Goldman, the site occupies a former industrial district once filled with garment factories and warehouses. Goldman identified these expansive, blank concrete surfaces as ideal canvases for artists who previously lacked legitimate spaces to display their work.
