Buckminster Fuller's Fly's Eye Dome

The Fly's Eye Dome is a twenty-four-foot fiberglass sphere covered in large, circular openings that give it the appearance of an insect's eye. Architect Buckminster Fuller designed this structure in nineteen sixty-five as an autonomous dwelling machine, a portable and self-sufficient home capable of housing solar panels and water collection systems within its molded shell.
