Buckman Tavern is a wood-framed building standing near the edge of the Lexington Battle Green. Constructed around seventeen ten by Benjamin Muzzey, it holds the distinction of being the first public house in town. By the spring of seventeen seventy-five, the tavern served as a social and political hub for the local community, operating under the proprietorship of John Buckman.
