The Edificio Pablo Ferrando sits on the pedestrian Sarandí street, recognizable by the expansive glass and ironwork façade that breaks from the heavy masonry of its neighbors. Built in nineteen seventeen, the six-level structure was designed by architect Leopoldo Tosi as the home for the country’s first optical institute. It functioned as both a commercial space and a specialized clinic, using advanced structural techniques that allowed for large, light-filled interior galleries.
