Bukhara Caravanserai

historic

The Bukhara Caravanserai is marked by its heavy, convex stone portal and a series of pointed arches that frame an octagonal inner courtyard. Built in the late fifteenth century, the structure sits within the Icherisheher old town, positioned along the historical trade route that once passed through the Shamakhi Gates. It functioned as a merchant hotel, providing shelter and stalls for travelers arriving from Central Asia.
