The Maiden Tower, or Qız Qalası, rises above the narrow stone streets of the Old City as a massive, eight-story cylinder of limestone. It features a unique, trapezoidal projection jutting from its side, and its walls reach five meters in thickness at the base. This structure stands nearly thirty meters tall, anchoring the southern edge of the historic walled city where the Caspian Sea once met the land.
