Canadian War Museum

museum

The Canadian War Museum is identified by its sloping, grass-covered roof that appears to emerge directly from the earth. Located on LeBreton Flats, this building was designed by architects Raymond Moriyama and Alex Rankin to reflect the themes of regeneration and the healing of a landscape scarred by conflict. It officially opened on May eighth, two thousand five, a date chosen to mark both the one hundred and twenty-fifth anniversary of the institution’s collection and the sixtieth anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
