Confederation Building

The Confederation Building is defined by its V-shaped silhouette and an exterior of rusticated stonework topped with a steep, green copper roof. You can pick it out by its dense collection of dormer windows, turrets, and carvings, which give the massive structure the appearance of a castle. Standing on Wellington Street just west of Parliament Hill, this building was completed in nineteen thirty-one as the first major step in the government's plan to expand the federal precinct.
