The National War Memorial

The National War Memorial, often called The Response, is a granite arch rising over twenty-one meters in the center of Confederation Square. At its apex stand two large bronze allegorical figures representing Peace and Freedom. Below them, twenty-two uniformed bronze figures representing different service branches appear to march through the archway, capturing the moment of mobilization rather than the battle itself.
