Koruna Palace stands at the lower end of Wenceslas Square, defined by a tiara-like crown that rises from the corner of its tower. Completed in nineteen fourteen, this late Art Nouveau structure was commissioned by a life insurance company, with its name referencing both the Czech currency and the ornamental crown supported by statues on its exterior. Architects Antonín Pfeiffer and Matěj Blecha designed the building with a reinforced concrete skeleton, marking a departure from the flowery, nature-inspired motifs common at the time toward a more geometric, modern style.
