Plaza de la Floresta

The Plaza de la Floresta is marked by a central traffic circle—or redondel—that has acted as the heart of this neighborhood since its planning stages. When the city council approved the designs for La Floresta on May twenty-fourth, nineteen seventeen, engineers envisioned a secluded residential enclave on a hill three kilometers from the historic center. This layout intentionally placed the plaza at the neighborhood's core, clustering the original bakeries, local shops, and the church around this hub to anchor the daily lives of the first residents.
