Mosque of Qanibay al-Rammah

The Mosque of Qanibay al-Rammah is identifiable by its double-headed minaret, a rare feature that departs from the standard single-bulb design found on most Cairo landmarks. Built between fifteen oh three and fifteen oh four during the Mamluk era, the structure occupies a hillside slope near the Citadel. To achieve a uniform facade despite the uneven terrain, the architect raised the building on top of storage rooms, allowing the stone exterior to maintain a single, continuous line of crenelations along the top.
