The Sayida Aisha Mosque is distinguished by a large dome resting on eight concrete pillars, with an inscription above the door reading, "Aisha has a bright light and joy, and her dome in which supplications are answered." This site houses the mausoleum of Sayyida Aisha bint Jaafar al-Sadiq, a revered descendant of the Prophet Muhammad who died in Cairo in the year one hundred and forty-five after the Hijra.
