The Amir Alin Aq Palace is marked by a distinctive stone portal, located behind an iron railing just off the street. Built in twelve ninety-three for Amir Alin Aq, who served as a cupbearer to Sultan al-Ashraf Khalil ibn Qalawun, this residence stands as an early example of Mamluk architecture. While much of the original structure has fallen into ruin over the centuries, the portal remains notable for its canopy hood, which features a pattern of stalactites hanging from an eight-petal rosette.
