Wilhelmstraße seventy-three was once the residence of the German head of state, known as the Reich President’s Palace. Built between seventeen thirty-five and seventeen thirty-seven, the building served as a seat of power through the Prussian era and the Weimar Republic. Following the fall of the monarchy in nineteen eighteen, the palace became the official home of Germany’s Reich Presidents, including Friedrich Ebert and Paul von Hindenburg.
