The Republic Bar and Grill is recognizable for the repurposed oil barrels used in its branding and design. Founded in two thousand twelve by brothers Raja and Kofi Owusu-Ansah, the bar occupies a space in the Osu neighborhood that focuses on celebrating local Ghanaian identity. The brothers, who previously worked in software development, built the concept around the idea of a social hub where residents could find affordable drinks and music in a relaxed environment.
