Megaro Gizi

Megaro Gizi is a seventeenth-century mansion in Fira that you can identify by the Gyzi family crest carved above its front entrance. It is one of the few historical estates that survived the earthquake of nineteen fifty-six, which leveled much of the surrounding neighborhood. While the tremor destroyed the upper levels of many similar homes, the basement and parts of the original structure remained standing.
