Arcades Crypts

The northern and southern arcades at Fiumei Road Cemetery, often called Kerepesi Cemetery, are defined by their long, rhythmic rows of Neoclassical and Art Nouveau columns. These structures, designed and built between nineteen oh four and nineteen oh eight, reach across the grounds like a grand, stone-hewn hall. Their design, featuring golden-tiled domes and meticulously carved wall tombs, was intended to provide a final resting place for the city’s elite, including noble families and prominent artists.
