Jolfa Square

Jolfa Square serves as the historic hub of the New Julfa neighborhood in Isfahan. You can identify this space by the surrounding brick-lined alleys and the presence of older residential architecture that contrasts with the wider boulevards of the city. Established in the early seventeenth century, the area became home to a community of Armenian Christians who were relocated here from the original town of Julfa by the order of Shah Abbas the First.
