The Giardini Reali of Turin stretch across seven hectares of green space, set directly behind the Palazzo Reale and enclosed by the remnants of the city’s ancient defensive walls. These gardens are defined by a mix of formal geometric parterres, orderly white gravel paths, and the sound of water from various fountains, including the centerpiece Fountain of the Nereids and Tritons, sculpted by Simone Martinez in seventeen fifty-seven.
