Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka is recognizable by the massive, shining titanium surface of its twelve-thousand-ton retractable roof, which domes over the Momochihama waterfront. Opened in nineteen ninety-three, it was the first stadium in Japan built with a retractable roof. The facility cost seventy-six billion yen to construct and serves as the home stadium for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks professional baseball team.
