Hatajuku Yosegi Kaikan Hall

Hatajuku Yosegi Kaikan Hall is a small museum dedicated to the art of yosegi-zaiku, a distinctive style of parquetry that has defined this mountain village for two centuries. You can identify the building by its focus on these traditional wood mosaics, which were conceived here in the late Edo period by a local craftsman named Ishikawa Nihei.
