The shop known as Luthier no Yadorigi is a small space in the village of Hatajuku, located along the historic Hakone Old Road. It operates as the storefront for the workshop called Luthier, which was founded by artisan Yuta Shimizu in two thousand eleven. The shop is recognizable for its displays of modern Hakone yosegi-zaiku, or wood-mosaic craft, which depart from traditional geometric patterns in favor of whimsical, rounded designs like wooden castanets and small figures.
