Yuuhisai Koudoukan

Yuuhisai Koudoukan is hidden behind a narrow corridor sandwiched between two modern apartment buildings, marked by a vibrant noren cloth hanging above its inner gate. Once inside, a stone path lined with maples leads into a mossy garden surrounding a stately nineteenth-century wooden house. Built in the sukiya-zukuri style of architecture favored by the Edo period warrior class, the structure serves as a quiet space for tea ceremonies and the study of traditional arts.
