The Muzium Istana Kesultanan Melaka is a three-storey wooden structure defined by its tall, pointed roofs and intricate floral carvings on its walls and pillars. It sits at the foot of St. Paul's Hill as a reconstructed version of the fifteenth-century palace once occupied by Sultan Mansur Shah. The building is constructed entirely of hardwood without the use of a single metal nail, relying instead on traditional joinery techniques described in the Malay Annals.
