Shechen Monastery

Shechen Tennyi Dargyeling Monastery is defined by its vibrant, intricate murals and traditional Tibetan architecture that rise amidst the busy streets near the Boudhanath Stupa. This monastery was founded in nineteen eighty by the late Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, who sought to preserve the heritage of one of the six mother monasteries of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism after its original site in Tibet was destroyed during the nineteen fifties.
