The Canterbury Museum is distinguished by its grey basalt stonework and elaborate Gothic Revival architecture, designed by Benjamin Mountfort. Opening in eighteen seventy on Rolleston Avenue, the building stands at the end of Worcester Boulevard, where its tower was intentionally aligned to acknowledge the spire of the city’s cathedral.
