Fish Market Mutrah

The Muttrah Fish Market is defined by a large, sweeping canopy of aluminum fins that mimics the fluid lines of traditional Arabic calligraphy. This structure sits directly on the waterfront along the corniche, its curved concrete spine mirroring the radial shape of the bay. Completed in two thousand seventeen, the facility was designed by the Norwegian firm Snøhetta to replace a smaller, original market building that had served the local fishing community since nineteen sixty.
