Perched atop a rocky promontory overlooking the Mutrah Corniche, the Old Watch Tower is easily identified by its position high above the harbor and the winding coastline. This stone fortification served as a defensive lookout point during the period of Portuguese influence in Oman, which spanned from approximately fifteen oh seven to sixteen fifty.
