Ancient Theatre Stage

The Suzhou Museum of Opera and Theatre is anchored by a historic theatre stage constructed from latticed wood. This space serves as the heart of the museum, which was established in nineteen eighty-six to preserve the five-hundred-year-old history of Kunqu Opera. Visitors find the stage within the museum grounds, where it hosts daily performances that continue the traditions of this ancient vocal and theatrical genre.
