Fangsuo Chengdu Branch

Fangsuo Chengdu is a vast underground bookstore located beneath the luxury retail complex of Taikoo Li. You can identify the entrance by a vaulted, glass-and-metal tunnel containing an escalator that descends into the basement level. Once inside, the space opens into a cavernous, double-height chamber defined by thirty-seven concrete columns that reach nine meters in height. These angular, faceted pillars are intended to evoke the raw, massive walls of a subterranean quarry or ancient site of excavation.
