Soaring, wave-like gables known as fire walls define the silhouette of the Guangdong Guild Hall. Built in seventeen forty-six, this structure stands in the heart of the Jinjiang District as a relic of the massive migration wave that reshaped Sichuan during the Qing Dynasty. Cantonese immigrants pooled their resources to construct this hall, creating a place where they could preserve their own language, customs, and religious identity while living in a land that was often entirely foreign to them.
