The National Museum of Natural History stands out in Rizal Park for its glass-and-metal dome, which covers a central courtyard and spirals upward like a strand of DNA. Known as the Tree of Life, this structure connects the six floors of the building, which was originally constructed in nineteen forty as the Agriculture and Commerce Building. Designed by architect Antonio Toledo in the Neoclassical style, the edifice was destroyed during the Battle of Manila in World War Two and later reconstructed.
