Wartownia Number One is a reinforced concrete guardhouse standing as a low, bunker-like structure on the Westerplatte peninsula. Built between nineteen thirty-three and nineteen thirty-four, it served as one of six defensive outposts designed to protect the Polish Military Transit Depot. Its walls, still marked by scars from machine gun fire and artillery shells, once formed a critical point of resistance against the German attack that began on September first, nineteen thirty-nine.
