Jardim do Morro

Jardim do Morro is a sloping hillside garden in Vila Nova de Gaia that sits directly at the southern end of the upper deck of the Dom Luís I Bridge. Its most distinct visual characteristic is the steady incline of its green lawns and pathways, which are planted with palm trees and dotted with stone benches. This specific slope is what gives the garden its primary purpose: because the ground rises, visitors can look over one another’s heads to see the Douro River and the historic city of Porto spread out in tiers on the northern bank.
