The Bunhwangsa Stone Pagoda sits at the center of the temple grounds, a structure built of dark andesite stones cut into the shape of bricks. Completed in six hundred thirty-four during the reign of Queen Seondeok, it is the oldest surviving stone pagoda from the Silla Kingdom. While records indicate the original design reached nine stories in height, today only the bottom three tiers remain. Each of the four sides of the base features a square niche guarded by stone figures known as the Mighty Diamond Men.
