The Gyeongju National Museum is defined by the massive bronze Divine Bell of King Seongdeok, which greets visitors near the main gate. Cast in seven hundred seventy-one, the bell weighs nearly nineteen tons and stands almost four meters tall. It is renowned for its intricate engravings of celestial figures and its unique sound, which legend says was once likened to the cry of a child sacrificed during the casting process.
