Woljeonggyo Bridge

Woljeonggyo Bridge is defined by its two massive, two-story gate towers that frame the wooden structure as it crosses the Namcheon Stream. Completed in April two thousand eighteen, this bridge stands as a reconstruction of an ancient crossing originally built in the year seven hundred sixty during the Unified Silla period. The *Samguk Sagi*, or History of the Three Kingdoms, records its construction during the nineteenth year of King Gyeongdeok’s reign, when it functioned as a vital link between the Wolseong Royal Palace and the sacred slopes of Mount Namsan.
