Cheonmachong

historic

Cheonmachong is a large, grass-covered mound that rises from the flat earth of the Daereungwon Tomb Complex. Built between the fifth and sixth centuries, this royal tumulus for an unknown Silla king is the only tomb in the park that you can enter. The structure follows the traditional style of a wood-lined chamber buried beneath a massive heap of boulders and earth, an engineering choice that protected its contents from grave robbers for over a thousand years.
