137 Pillars House Chiang Mai

One hundred thirty-seven Pillars House is defined by a central, dark-stained teakwood homestead elevated on a dense thicket of wooden posts. Built in eighteen eighty-nine, this structure originally served as the northern headquarters for the Borneo Trading Company, a firm deeply involved in the nineteenth-century teak trade. The house was once occupied by Louis Leonowens, the son of the British tutor famously depicted in the story of Anna and the King.
