The Attaqwa School stands in the Wat Ket neighborhood, identifiable by its association with the adjacent Attaqwa Mosque, a green and white structure topped by a prominent dome and minaret. This school was established in January nineteen seventy-one as the first Islamic school in Chiang Mai. Its creation was led by a local Yunnanese Muslim businessman who secured international funding from donors across the Middle East to provide a curriculum centered on Arabic language, the Quran, and hadith.
