Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station is defined by its massive, square brick silhouette and four prominent white chimneys that rise against the London skyline. Built in two stages between nineteen twenty-nine and nineteen fifty-five, it was once one of the largest brick buildings in the world. Its design, involving architects J. Theo Halliday and Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, blended industrial function with grand Art Deco interiors. At its peak, the station generated one-fifth of London’s electricity, powering iconic sites like the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace.
