The blue plaque at number sixteen Cheyne Walk commemorates both the painter and poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti and the poet Algernon Charles Swinburne. Rossetti moved into this grand eighteenth-century residence, then known as Tudor House, in eighteen sixty-two. He invited several friends to share the space with him, including Swinburne, who rented a room there for about a year.
