Holland Park

Holland Park is identified by the fragmentary stone ruins of a seventeenth-century mansion rising from its center. This fifty-four-acre space began in sixteen oh five as the estate of Sir Walter Cope, who built a residence then known as Cope Castle. The house later became a center for political life under the ownership of the Fox family, eventually housing the influential Whig politician Charles James Fox.
