Lock and Company Hatters occupies number six Saint James's Street, a site identifiable by its distinctive green front door and status as the oldest hat shop in the world. Established in sixteen seventy-six, the business moved to this specific address in seventeen sixty-five. While the building once functioned as a coffee house known as The Feathers, it eventually became the family business of the Lock family, who still operate it today.
